Lego Robotics Team

The TCS Lego Robotics team participates in the First Lego League competition annually. Robotics is a fun and dynamic way of teaching engineering, problem solving, math, teamwork, and critical thinking. Each year the team is assigned a set of missions. The team must design, build, and program a Lego EV3 robot that will accomplish as many of the missions as possible in a set amount of time. In addition, each team is given a topic that they must research and create a presentation that is judged. In its first year (2007), the TCS Robotics Team (the “Trinity Techs”) won the first place trophy for Robot Performance and the second place trophy for Presentation at the Savannah Qualifier. In its second year (2008), the team won second place trophies for both Robot Performance and Presentation and advanced to the Super-Regional competition. In 2009 and 2013, the team advanced to the State competition.
