Trinity Christian School is currently seeking to fill the following positions for the 2023-2024 school year.

Lower School TeacherLower School Teacher

We are seeking talented lower school teachers who love the Lord, children, and teaching!  Responsibilities include but are not limited to lesson planning, grading, classroom setup, teaching, and meeting students’ social, emotional, spiritual, and academic needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior for students in the classroom
  • Preparing lessons, units, and projects to complete learning objectives
  • Establishing and communicating clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects
  • Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students
  • Creating, assigning, and grading various assessments for students, including tests, quizzes, essays, and projects
  • Working with students one-on-one when they need extra help or attention
  • Tracking and evaluating student academic progress
  • Leading parent-teacher meetings
  • Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers and supervisors
  • Creating a safe, respectful classroom environment
  • Communicating regularly with parents
  • Helping students improve study methods and habits
  • Administering tests to evaluate students’ progress
  • Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
  • Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
  • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, etc.)
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
  • Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to develop lesson plans and successfully instruct students in theories, methods, and tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and clearly express complex ideas
  • Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
  • Knowledge of appropriate learning psychology, styles, and strategies
  • Strong public speaking and oral presentation skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Advanced technology skills to track student attendance and grades and present creative lessons
  • Leadership skills and patience for working with students of all ages

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in teaching and must be in the process of being GA state-certified or ACSI-certified. Applicants must also be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice, and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Trinity Christian School.

Lower School AideLower School Aide

Lower School Aids teachers are responsible for supporting the classroom teacher in planning and delivering a curriculum aligned with our school’s standards. They may also perform clerical support as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a love for working with young children.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Positive attitude and commitment to collaborating with others
  • A desire to promote a lifelong love of learning for students
  • Classroom management skills appropriate for elementary students
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and to integrate learning across subject matters

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. An undergraduate degree in education or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with children preferred.

Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed in a classroom environment, with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or carries objects of light-to-medium weight, up to 25 pounds. A full range of hand and finger motions may be used for data entry.
